American Sentenced to 30 Years in Nicaragua Prison
Monday May 7, 2007
SAN JUAN DEL SUR, Nicaragua --This one hits close to home, literally. Eric Volz, 27, a former magazine editor from San Diego (like me), was recently convicted to 30 years in a Nicaragua prison for the rape and murder of his ex-girlfriend, Doris Jimenez.
Volz adamantly maintains his innocence -- he has ten witnesses who saw him during the time of the murder. His friends and family have produced a video about his case that has over 100,000 You Tube viewings.
