Christmas in Costa Rica

Is it Christmas already? Almost -- and I don't know about you, but I still have some shopping to do.
For those of you lucky enough to be in Costa Rica for Christmas this year, you have a lot to look forward to. From tamales to the Festival de la Luz in San Jose to baby Jesus bringing gifts, Costa Rica takes its Christmas holidays seriously (but not too seriously). Because Central America is a primarily Catholic region, other Central America countries from Panama to Guatemala also boast exuberant Christmas celebrations.
