Central America Photo of the Month: Guanaja Town
Friday June 6, 2008
Mountainous, pine-strewn Guanaja is the easternmost of Honduras's Bay Islands, which also includes Utila, Roatan and the Cayos Cochinos. While Guanaja is the least touristed of Honduras's Bay Islands trio (not including the tiny Cayos Cochinos), it's the most distinctive in many ways. Just take a look at this photo of Guanaja Town, aka Bonacca Town: our Central America Photo of the Month. Known as "the Venice of the Caribbean", Bonacca Town is a jam-packed, labyrinthine metropolis of buildings and canals.
