Machaca Hill Lodge Undergoes Extreme Luxury Remodel

Thursday December 11, 2008
The location of Machaca Hill Lodge is impossible to improve upon. The Belize jungle lodge sits in the canopy of Southern Belize's Laughing Falcon Reserve, which thrives with toucans, chirping frogs, and playful howler monkeys. The Machaca Hill Lodge itself has always been lovely, but its owners are in the process of an exhaustive remodel, one that will include a level of service similar to that of Cayo Espanto.

According to a recent press release, the Machaca Hill Lodge remodel will include floor-to-ceiling windows in all of its jungle villas and spacious private verandahs. Butler service will be available 24 hours a day. The lodge has brought in a new Executive Chef, Ken Gundu, famed in Africa's luxury travel circuit, whose menu takes advantage of the lodge's on-site organic garden. The wine list had also been expanded. As a result, Machaca Hill is joining the ranks of the extreme high-end Belize hotels and resorts -- move over, Francis Ford Coppola!
