Central America Animal for January: Blue Morpho

Our Central America animal for January is the Blue Morpho Butterfly, undoubtedly one of Central America's most beautiful creatures. I've been lucky enough to glimpse them in forests all over the isthmus. This particular butterfly came from the butterfly farm at the Lodge at Chaa Creek, a hotel in Belize's western Cayo region. The whole Blue Morpho butterfly life cycle (from egg to adult) is just 115 days.
