At only ten acres, Tobacco Caye packs a lot of beauty into a tiny island. One can walk all around the island in just a couple minutes. Between twenty-five and fifty residents live in Tobacco Caye, most who own or work in the island's seven hotels.
I stayed at Reef's End Lodge, which occupies Tobacco Caye's top piece of real estate. Reef's End also runs the only Tobacco Caye dive shop. Because the Belize Barrier Reef runs right up against the island, the snorkeling and diving is remarkable right offshore.
