On the other side of the Caye Caulker split, there’s decent snorkeling along the mangroves, which serve as a natural barrier reef. Rent snorkels from Tsunami Adventures, a short walk south of the Split. Or for the island’s best snorkeling tour, ask around until you find Ras Creek. A Caye Caulker legend, he claims to have started Belize's Shark Ray Alley snorkeling excursions, and can communicate with the seafaring animals like no guide in the world. His funky, garish boat is usually parked at the Split.
