July is smack in the middle of Costa Rica’s rainy season. However, storms often start later in the day, after a morning of sunshine.

    Highs of 77ºF
    Lows of 62ºF
    Average Rainfall: 8.46 inches
    Humidity: 84%
  • Manuel Antonio (Pacific):
    Highs of 87ºF
    Lows of 69ºF
    Average Rainfall: 18 inches
    Humidity: 88%
  • Limón (Caribbean):
    Highs of 88ºF
    Lows of 71ºF
    Average Rainfall: 16.8 inches
    Humidity: 89%
Costa Rica Events in July:
  • Virgin of The Sea: On the closest Saturday to July 16, the beach port city of Puntarenas celebrates the ocean with fireworks, music, dances, and parades of boats through the Nicoya Gulf.
  • Guanacaste Day: July 25 marks the day in 1824 Guanacaste was annexed from Nicaragua. The holiday commemorated the region’s entry into the union.

Even in Costa Rica’s rainy season, the sun often shines throughout the day, with storms rolling in later in the afternoon. In July, prices are cheap, and attractions are uncrowded--both which can make up for a few rainy evenings.
