Guide Review - Take Off in Latin American Spanish: Spanish Language Learning Program
I love that this Spanish course focuses on Latin American Spanish alone – no vosotroses to skim over. The audio is cheerful, clear, and even humorous on occasion. Because learning a new language can seem overwhelming, these factors are critical in inspiring independent Spanish students to stick with a course. Learning Spanish can be fun? Really? Unless you have the chance to study one-on-one in a Central America Spanish immersion course with a particularly witty teacher, Take Off in Latin American Spanish is as close as it gets.
I brought the Take Off coursebook with me on a trip to Guatemala, and found it a great refresher during my hours-long jaunts on public buses. The compact travel dictionary and phrasebook is handy for some quick vocab cramming, or to translate Spanish text on the go. Though admittedly, I have too much pride to flip through a phrasebook during an actual conversation – I prefer to pantomime awkwardly.
