Guaro liquor

Definition: Looking for a little kick in your cocktail? Try guaro, a quintessentially Central American liquor. Popular in Costa Rica, Honduras and Guatemala, guaro liquor is distilled from sugar cane, and is served as a shot or as a mixer in alcoholic beverages. It's clear and slightly sweet, traditionally with a lower proof than vodka.

Costa Rica guaro is probably the most well-known; specifically, Costa Rica's Cacique Guaro brand.

Also Known As: aguardiente de cana
