Tiny tree frogs bright with nature's most brilliant colors. Snakes, both harmless and deadly. Weathered old iguanas (like the one pictured) who resemble dinosaurs more than they do their contemporary reptilian counterparts. Big-eyed geckos who bark from the walls. Unlike Central America's mammals, it's hard to travel to the isthmus without glimpsing Central America's reptiles and amphibians.
This image gallery offers a peek into the diverse beauty (yes, beauty!) of the reptiles and amphibians of Central America.
